Technology

Technology at Alexandria Country Day School (ACDS) is used to integrate, support, reinforce and enhance teaching and learning. Students and teachers are encouraged to use technology skills in their everyday class work.

We offer access to technology through two computer labs, three mobile carts, the media center, and filtered Internet access. Every classroom is equipped with a Promethean Board, a globally recognized interactive whiteboard that improves student engagement. All lower elementary classrooms are equipped with a minimum of two desktop computers devoted to student use. Teachers are using technology to focus on concepts and to help students practice skills. They are also facilitating the use of technology by students to expand understanding and organize information for better learning.
To communicate with our families, ACDS uses Edline, a web-based technology that offers a simple, single point of access to all of the key information students and parents need.

We have a full-time on-site computer support specialist and access to a local IT firm ensuring prompt service to any delay in the classroom teachers use of technology.
